Unfortunately the new version of this spectro is not being recognized by their rip software, so my only way to do it now is with the X-Rite software. I1Profiler Software. X-Rite DTP94 /Quato Silver Haze Pro. Inkjet Papir og medier. GMG ProofPaper Semimatte 250g. Go to systems Control Panel Programs & Features and uninstall X-Rite Device Service Manager, then uninstall Colormunki/i1Profiler Software 9.) Go to C: Programs (x86) X-Rite delete the folder ‘Devices’ (if still present).

An update to i1Profiler software has recently been released. You’ll recall that i1Profiler software is “what’s inside” i1Display Pro, i1Photo Pro, and i1Publish Pro and i1Publish. An update is downloadable now to give your i1Pro device some new features and functionality. If you already have a version of i1Profiler on your system you should receive an automatic update window. Simply activate that update and the new software version will be downloaded and installed. This new version of the software drives both the i1Pro and the i1Display Pro devices.

Now let’s get down to what’s new inside i1Profiler v 1.1.1. This version of i1Profiler integrates both i1Pro spectrophotometer devices including those included in i1Publish Pro, i1Photo Pro, i1Basic Pro, and the new i1Display Pro colorimeter. In the monitor module this version shows improved luminance calculations from ambient light measurement. There is also improved video card ADC/DDC support to allow more automatic control of video card/monitor combinations. Part of that ADC/DDC functionality includes automatically setting the monitor technology selection. The software defaults to CCFL backlight technology if no other information can be sensed by the software. It’s generally best to allow the software select the setting automatically. Built in is some flexibility with setting contrast ratio. We’ll have more on this feature in a future post.

You’ll also notice two new features in this version. These two new features will be helpful for folks who do not have “ideal” lighting conditions in the room where your monitor resides. Ideally you would want to have controlled light using hoods on your monitors to keep overhead or other stray light off the screen. And certainly we recommend controlling the light in your room for instance not having daylight changes during the workday and evening. However, we recognize that this is not always possible. Ambient Light Smart Control keeps your device active after the profiling sequence is complete to continue to measure both luminance and white point. The software can make changes in the profile to account for these changes thereby giving you a more stable match of your monitor to the ambient lighting conditions in your room as they shift and change throughout the day. A brand new concept called Flare Correct™ adds one more step to the profiling process after measurements are made for luminance, contrast, and color patches. The software prompts the user to pull the device (i1Pro or i1Display Pro) about 12 inches off the surface of the display and take an additional measurement. Pulling the device away from direct contact with the screen measures the glare or flare on the surface of the monitor and uses this measurement to make a single adjustment to the profile as it is being created giving you a better screen to print match.

There are some great new options for generating display patch sets for making monitor profiles. First there are two additional sizes for software generated patch sets built into the software. Previous versions included only the small patch set of 119 color patches to measure. The addition of medium, 220 color patches, and large, 478 color patches, takes full advantage of the 5x measurement speed of this device allowing the user to measure much larger patch sets for even greater color accuracy and fine tuning of the profile.

At the top left of the patch set window there are additional icons. This version of i1Profiler allows you to add color patches from Pantone® Color Manager and allows you to import a photo from which patches are extracted to be used in the monitor profiling process. These options were previously only available for producing patch sets for printer profiling. These options are not part of the custom patch set options for printer profiling. These options for expanded color patch sets combined with the new color engine in this software and additional features like Flare Correct™ and Ambient Light Smart Control are sure to produce monitor profiles the likes of which we have not experienced before.

In the printer profiling module there is an enhancement that will reduce errors when reading a target. The error checking algorithms have been improved to reduce the number of errors when reading patch sets from printed targets. Various other enhancements and bug fixes are also included.
